Listen to my Bio:
My name is David A. Gwilt, and Radio 4 the Ages™ is my creation and my passion. As a youngster in Syracuse, N.Y., I remember spending summer nights on our porch, listening to stories shared by my great-aunt Peggy, who lived to be 99. I often enjoyed hearing all my older relatives share their life stories. The historical aspect of their lives, the hopes and dreams they had, and how those folks managed through times of change and circumstance fascinated me. Now as an older adult myself, I have the chance to honor the legacy of those wonderful storytellers by creating this weekly live talk-radio show.
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Syracuse University, a graduate certificate in gerontology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC), and an adult-care-home administrator’s license. I previously hosted a real-estate show on WDYT radio in Charlotte from 2007 to 2008.
I have received much appreciated support for this show’s concept from Dr. Dena Shenk, the director of the Gerontology Program at UNCC, as well as my fellow gerontology classsmates and many people in the local business community involved with caring for our aging citizens. Radio 4 the Ages™ will be a great benefit to our senior adults, their adult children, the organizations that offer services to them, and to all those who dedicate their lives to making the journey through life’s aging process more rewarding!
